Qualifications of Staff

Orthotic & Prosthetic Solutions, Inc believes in a solid educational basis for professional care. Although not required by the State of Nebraska, we insist on all orthotic and prosthetic professionals being academically grounded as this is essential for understanding the need for evidence-based practice. All patient care staff must be certified and meet the standards of our hiring policy, which states as follows:

Certified orthotist/prosthetist staff must have completed a bachelor’s degree with training at a National Committee for Orthotic and Prosthetic Education (NCOPE) accredited school, completed a two-year residency, and passed the American Board of Certification national board examination. If not trained in both orthotics and prosthetics, they may only treat within their respective discipline. Physical therapy consultants must be licensed by the State of Nebraska.

To further the education and training of future practitioners, we anticipate the creation of an orthotic and prosthetic residency program. The addition of residents would not diminish patient care; residents would be closely supervised and held to the standards of our company.

Continuing education for all professional staff is required to meet at least the minimum guidelines for their licensure/certification. For orthotic and prosthetic staff, they must have completed at least 150 contact hours of education every three years. Physical therapy staff must have completed a minimum of 20 hours every two years.
